A holistic facial is a facial treatment that incorporates elements of holistic or natural approaches to skincare, focusing not only on the surface of the skin but also on overall well-being. Holistic facials typically involve using natural skin care products, along with massage techniques and possibly aromatherapy hydrolat, to promote relaxation, balance, and health for both the skin and the mind.

Key components of a holistic facial may include:

  1. Natural Products: The use of natural, or plant-based skincare products, often avoiding harsh chemicals or synthetic ingredients.
  2. Massage Techniques: Facial massage is often a central part of a holistic facial, aimed at improving circulation, lymphatic drainage, and muscle tone. This can help to relax facial muscles, reduce tension, and promote a glowing complexion.
  3. French Clays and aromatherapy hydrolat are used to remove impurities from your skin, and the clay mask is left on for a while, whilst you enjoy a hand & arm massage or a mini reflexology treatment.
  4. Mind-Body Connection: Holistic facials emphasize the connection between mental well-being and skin health. My routine incorporates relaxation techniques & shoulder, & neck massage into the treatment to promote overall balance and harmony.
  5. Customization: A holistic facial is typically tailored to the individual’s unique skin type, concerns, and preferences. The practitioner may assess the client’s skin condition and lifestyle factors to create a personalized treatment plan.
  6. It’s just bliss and can help alleviate tension in the face, scalp, neck and shoulders and promote recovery from conditions such as headache and congestion. (Both are contraindications, so it’s important you’re sure there’s nothing requiring medical treatment before treatment.)
Practicalities: This treatment takes an hour, but can be added to a back massage, or full body massage for a complete relaxation package, or a full reflexology. You’ll be lying on the massage couch, and a strappy top is ideal. (white may discolour with oils)
